Just swapped out my old basement windows for proper egress ones, and honestly, it's a game changer. Easier to climb out in an emergency, plus way more natural light down there now. Anyone else done this and got tips or hacks to share?

Did the same thing last summer, and yeah, the extra sunlight alone makes it worth every penny. One thing I learned the hard way though—make sure to get some decent window well covers. Had a family of raccoons move into mine...cute at first, less cute when they started knocking on the window at 3 am. A good cover keeps critters out and helps prevent leaves and junk piling up down there.
