Moved into an older house recently and the bathroom fan is pretty weak. After showers, the mirror stays fogged up forever and there's always this damp feeling lingering around. I'm worried about mold or something nasty building up over time. Wondering if upgrading the fan is enough or if I should look into other options like adding a window vent or something? Curious what others have done in similar situations...
Upgrading the fan is usually your best first step—most older homes have fans that basically just make noise and do nothing else, lol. Check the CFM rating on your current fan (usually printed inside the housing somewhere). For most bathrooms, you'll want at least 80-110 CFM. Swap it out for a stronger model, and make sure your ductwork isn't kinked or blocked. If that's still not enough, adding a timer switch can help run the fan longer after showers. Windows are great too, but honestly, a decent fan usually solves it.
