I got super annoyed with my kitchen faucet dripping, especially at night (you know, drip...drip...ugh). Grabbed some plumber's tape on a whim and wrapped it around the threads. Actually worked pretty well. Anyone else had luck with this stuff or was I just lucky?

Yeah, plumber's tape has saved me a few times too. Had a similar issue with my bathroom sink faucet—kept dripping no matter how tight I twisted the handle. Drove me nuts at night, especially since the bathroom is right next to my bedroom. Anyway, I tried plumber's tape after watching some random YouTube video, and it actually did the trick. It's been about six months now and still holding strong.

One thing I've noticed though is that plumber's tape works best when the leak is coming from threaded connections. If it's something internal like a worn-out washer or cartridge, tape won't really help much. Learned that the hard way when I tried fixing my showerhead leak...ended up needing to replace the cartridge entirely.

But yeah, for quick fixes on threaded joints, plumber's tape is pretty reliable. Glad it worked out for you too!
