I hear you on the prep—skipping it just means more work later, every time. Curious, did you seal the countertop paint with anything? I tried a clear coat once and it helped, but the finish still scratched up after a while. For peel-and-stick tiles, have you found any brands that actually stay put? I had some corners curl up after a few months and it drove me nuts. Wondering if it’s just the cheap stuff or if there’s a trick to making them last.
