- Haven’t really noticed a musty smell with wool, but I do air them out a lot—guess that helps.
- Tried hemp once and yeah, sourcing it was a nightmare.
- Layered linen + wool is my go-to lately. Keeps dust down and doesn’t feel stuffy, even in summer.
- Only downside: cat hair sticks to the wool like crazy…

I hear you on the cat hair situation—mine basically treats my wool throw like her personal throne. But honestly, I’ve had way more trouble with linen than wool when it comes to weird smells. Maybe it’s just my old house, but linen gets this damp funk if I don’t rotate it out. Wool’s been pretty forgiving, even when I forget to air it.

About hemp, I tried tracking down a hemp duvet once and felt like I was on some kind of scavenger hunt. Ended up giving up and going back to cotton, which isn’t perfect, but at least I can find it at the store without needing a secret password.

Linen + wool is solid, but I’m starting to think about trying bamboo. Supposedly it’s less of a hair magnet and doesn’t get that “I’ve been in a basement” vibe. Anyone else tried that, or am I just falling for marketing again?

Bamboo sheets are everywhere lately, but I haven’t tried them myself—partly because I’m skeptical of how “green” they actually are once you factor in the processing. Did you notice any difference in static or hair with cotton versus wool? My place is old too, so dampness is always a thing... Wondering if bamboo would hold up better in that kind of environment.

I’ve actually been tracking humidity in my place (old radiators, lots of quirks), and bamboo sheets didn’t seem to get musty as fast as cotton. Static-wise, wool’s still the champ for me—less hair, less cling. Processing for bamboo is a bit of a rabbit hole though... not as green as the marketing makes it sound, unfortunately.

- Bamboo sheets are comfy, but yeah, the “eco” label’s a bit of a stretch once you read into how they’re made.
- I went with linen for my last set—pricey up front, but so far they’ve survived my dog, my budget laundry soap, and a few humid summers.
- For static, I just toss in a couple dryer balls (wool or the cheap plastic ones) and call it a day.
- Cotton still wins for me on cost, but it’s nice not having to wash the bamboo as often… less laundry = more Netflix time, right?
