I’ve actually got one of those recycled fabric shoe organizers hanging in my closet right now. It’s held up way better than I expected, and I’m not exactly gentle with it. The only downside is if you’ve got boots, they kinda flop out, but for sneakers and flats, it’s a game changer. I used to lose shoes in the “closet abyss” all the time… now at least they’re all visible, even if they’re not always paired up perfectly.
- Totally agree on the visibility factor—makes grabbing the right pair way less of a hassle.
- I’ve noticed the recycled ones seem sturdier than some plastic versions I’ve tried, too.
- For boots, I ended up just standing them upright at the bottom of the closet... not perfect, but at least they’re not flopping out.
- One thing I wish: the pockets were just a bit deeper. Some of my chunkier sneakers stick out, but it’s still better than the old pile system.

Totally get what you mean about the pockets—my hiking boots are forever poking out, but at least I can see them, right? I went through a phase where I tried those fancy bamboo racks, but honestly, the recycled ones just hold up better for me. Plus, there's something satisfying about knowing you're using less plastic. Not a perfect system, but it feels like progress.
