Couldn't agree more. I usually keep an eye out for clearance sales at the end of big renovation seasons. Last fall, I picked up a bunch of bathroom fixtures at nearly 40% off because the store was switching out their showroom displays. Sure, they sat in storage for a couple months, but it saved me a good chunk of cash on my rental property remodel. Reclaimed stuff is great, but sometimes you need new materials, and timing those purchases right makes all the difference.

Timing definitely helps, especially with seasonal items. I managed to snag some outdoor decking materials at a steep discount last winterβ€”stores were desperate to clear space for new inventory. Another thing I've found helpful is building a relationship with local suppliers; sometimes they'll tip you off about upcoming sales or offer better prices if you're a regular. Has anyone tried negotiating directly with suppliers or stores? Curious if you've had success there...
