"the inspector opened the oven and found a forgotten pizza box from who knows when... awkward silence followed."

Haha, that's classic. Inspectors really do have radar for those hidden surprises. Had one inspection where I proudly showed off a newly installed eco-friendly countertop, only to have the inspector casually open the cabinet beneath and find a stash of old paint cans I'd completely forgotten about. Cue awkward chuckle and quick apology... Happens to the best of us, don't sweat it.

Haha, this reminds me of the time I meticulously cleaned my kitchen, thinking I'd covered every possible angle. The inspector walked in, nodded approvingly at the sparkling counters, then casually opened the microwave—only to find a bowl of ancient popcorn kernels I'd completely overlooked. Talk about awkward pauses...

Couldn't agree more. In my experience, inspectors often focus on less obvious areas like under sinks, behind appliances, or even ventilation systems. It's always helpful to quickly go through a mental checklist of commonly overlooked spots—under cabinets, inside appliances, and even the fridge's drip tray. Also, a quick walkthrough with fresh eyes (or even a friend) can help spot those hidden embarrassments before inspection day arrives. But honestly, inspectors see this stuff all the time; they're usually understanding if everything else is in decent shape.

Haha, your popcorn story hits close to home. Last year, I spent hours scrubbing every inch of my kitchen, convinced I'd nailed it. Inspector walks in, casually opens the dishwasher (which I never use), and finds a forgotten coffee mug with moldy residue inside... talk about embarrassing pauses.

True enough, but now I always double-check those rarely-used appliances just in case. Lesson learned the hard way, I guess.

Been there with the dishwasher surprise, haha... now I always peek inside microwaves and ovens too, even if they're rarely opened. Inspectors notice the weirdest things sometimes, better safe than sorry.

Haha, I've had inspectors spot stuff I didn't even know existed. Once got dinged for crumbs in the toaster tray—like, who checks that? You're smart to double-check microwaves and ovens; it's always the random spots they notice. Good luck tomorrow, you'll be fine... sounds like you've got this covered.
