Scheduling city inspections - anyone else find it a headache?
Just tried out this new online system our city rolled out for scheduling permit inspections. Thought it'd make life easier, but honestly, it's been kinda clunky. Took me forever to figure out how to pick a date, and then it randomly logged me out halfway through. Maybe it's just me being tech-challenged, haha...but seriously, has anyone else had issues with these online inspection schedulers or is it just my luck?

- Thought it'd be straightforward, but ended up clicking around aimlessly for ages just to find the calendar. And then, of course, it froze right as I was about to confirm my date.
- Eventually got it sorted, but only after a mini existential crisis about my tech skills. 😂
- On the bright side, once you get past the initial confusion, it's kinda nice not having to call and wait on hold forever.
- My advice: grab a coffee (or two), stay patient, and keep reminding yourself it's still better than dealing with paperwork in person.
If a permit scheduler logs you out mid-booking, check the appointment list or confirmation email before trying again. That can help you avoid submitting a duplicate booking.
If the scheduler keeps getting in the way, check the city’s inspection instructions for another booking option, such as calling. Don’t assume phone scheduling is available, though; the fallback methods vary by city.
