Ipe’s a beast, no kidding. I’ve hauled more than a few boards up stairs and it never gets easier. I do like how it weathers, though—clients always comment on the color shift. Composites are low-maintenance, but yeah, that slick surface is a real thing. Had a client’s lab wipe out chasing a ball once... not fun. Stainless fasteners help with the rust, but even those can get spots near the ocean if you’re not careful. There’s always some tradeoff.
