Just wrapped up a big remodel on our old house to handle the brutal winters we get around here. Honestly, it wasn't cheap, but man, waking up without feeling like you're camping in Antarctica is priceless. We went heavy on insulation, upgraded windows, and even splurged on heated floors (my toes have never been happier). Curious if anyone else tackled something similar and felt it was totally worth the investment or maybe regrets spending so much?

We did something similar a few years back with our historic home—insulation, storm windows, and sealing up drafts wherever we could find them. Didn't spring for heated floors (though now I'm a bit jealous...), but the difference was night and day. Honestly, at first I worried we'd overspent, but after the first winter without icy drafts sneaking in, zero regrets. Plus, preserving an older home's charm while making it livable year-round is always money well spent in my book.
