Reclaimed materials are great—I used salvaged barn wood to reinforce our attic beams last winter, and it held up surprisingly well during the heavy snowfall. Plus, it adds a nice rustic touch to the place. Only thing is, older materials sometimes have hidden weak spots or moisture issues...did you run into any trouble prepping or treating yours beforehand? Curious how others handle that step, since reclaimed stuff can be a bit unpredictable.
