I get what you mean about the headlamp—mine always leaves a weird dent on my forehead, and in summer it’s just miserable. I’ve tried those clamp lights too, but I’m always paranoid I’ll yank the cord and knock something over. Still, way easier on the neck. Sometimes I just prop up a cheap LED lantern if I’m working in a tight spot—less light, but no cords to trip over. It’s all about picking your battles, I guess.

I know what you mean about the headlamp dents—mine always seems to leave a mark, and by the end of a summer day, my forehead’s basically got a groove. I’ve tried those rechargeable work lights that stand on their own, but they’re not always bright enough for detail work. Have you messed around with any solar-powered options? I’ve been eyeing a couple, but I’m not sure if they’d hold up during a long project or if I’d just end up charging them half the time.
