Yeah, keypad locks with a physical backup are definitely the sweet spot. I've had mine for years and never regretted itβ€”tech glitches happen way more often than you'd think, and climbing through windows gets old fast... trust me on that one.

I've been thinking about getting one of those keypad locks myself, but I'm always worried about the battery dying at the worst possible moment. Have you ever had issues with battery life, or is it pretty reliable? I mean, climbing through windows sounds like a nightmare... been there once, and my neighbors still tease me about it.

I've had keypad locks on a couple properties for years now, and honestly, battery life hasn't been an issue. Most models give you plenty of warning before they dieβ€”mine starts beeping weeks ahead. Plus, some even have emergency battery terminals you can use from outside if you're really stuck. Definitely beats the embarrassment of window-climbing... been there too, and my dignity still hasn't recovered, haha.

Haha, window-climbing...been there myself, and let's just say my neighbors still haven't let me live it down. I switched to keypad locks on my historic place a couple years ago, and honestly, it's been a relief. Battery life hasn't given me trouble eitherβ€”mine chirps politely for weeks before it goes out. But I did have one close call when I ignored the warnings (classic procrastination), and ended up fumbling around with the emergency battery terminal in the pouring rain. Lesson learned: don't ignore the beeps.

Anyway, glad I'm not alone in the dignity-loss department. And hey, at least keypad locks blend pretty well with older homes nowadaysβ€”beats hiding spare keys under flower pots or fake rocks like my grandparents used to do.

Haha, keypad locks saved me from window gymnastics too. But once I forgot the code after a long vacation...stood there punching random numbers like a burglar. Neighbor walked by, gave me the side-eye, and asked if I needed help "breaking in." Embarrassing doesn't even cover it.
