- Totally relatableβtech that's supposed to make life easier sometimes just complicates things...
- Curious though, did you notice any design compromises when switching to keypad locks? Always found them a bit bulky visually.

Yeah, totally get what you mean. Some keypad locks can look like they belong on a spaceship door instead of a cozy home, lol. But honestly, lately I've seen sleeker options popping upβfinally catching up with aesthetics!
I hear ya on the spaceship thing, haha. When I first switched to a keypad lock, it felt like I slapped some NASA tech onto my vintage front doorβdefinitely not the Pinterest vibe I was going for. But after hunting around a bit, I've found some models that blend right in with traditional or minimalist designs. Honestly, choosing the right finish and smaller buttons makes a huge difference visually... and bonus points if you DIY a nice trim to frame it out!

Totally agree with this. I went through the same thingβinstalled a smart lock on my craftsman-style door and it stuck out like a sore thumb. Ended up swapping it for a matte black one with subtle buttons, and it blended right in. Haven't been locked out yet, but I did have a mini panic when the battery warning flashed... now I keep spare batteries handy just in case, haha.
Matte black definitely looks sleek, but have you noticed fingerprints or smudges showing up more easily on it? I've been debating finishes myself... worried about maintenance over time.
