My dad recently had a stroke, and now he's using a wheelchair full-time. Our house just isn't set up for that at all - doorways too narrow, bathroom impossible to navigate, stairs everywhere...you get the idea. We've been looking into remodeling to make things easier for him, but wow, the costs are adding up fast. Insurance covers some medical stuff but not really home modifications.
I've heard there might be grants or special loans out there for this kind of thing, but honestly, I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed trying to sort through all the info online. Has anyone here gone through something similar? How did you manage the financial side of things? Any tips or resources would be super appreciated right now.
