Those crate tables sound charming, but I'd be cautious about their durability outdoors. I tried something similar a few years back - looked great at first, but even with weatherproof stain, they started warping after a couple rainy seasons. Ended up swapping them out for metal stands that hold up better in the elements. Still, can't argue with the cozy vibe of fairy lights...just gotta find that sweet spot between cozy and carnival.
