"Did you find deductions covered enough of your upgrade costs to make it worthwhile?"

- For me, deductions definitely helped offset some costs, but honestly, rebates were the real MVP when I upgraded my insulation.
- Curious though... did anyone else find certain upgrades qualified for both rebates and deductions? Seems like a sweet spot if possible.

Rebates definitely had a bigger impact for me too, especially when I upgraded windows and doors—deductions were nice, but didn't move the needle as much. Never found a double-dip scenario myself...would've been great though.

Same here, I was hoping for that too but no luck. Rebates definitely felt more immediate, especially when I installed solar panels—seeing that upfront reduction on the invoice was pretty satisfying. Deductions were helpful at tax time, but honestly didn't feel as impactful overall.

One thing I'm still unclear about though: has anyone figured out if battery storage systems qualify clearly for rebates or deductions? I've seen conflicting info online and even my installer seemed unsure...

Battery storage rebates/deductions are still a bit of a gray area, but from what I've seen, it mostly depends on how the battery is set up. If it's directly tied into your solar system and stores energy from renewables, it's generally eligible for the federal tax credit (that 30% ITC). But standalone battery systems or ones charged primarily from the grid usually don't qualify. Definitely double-check with a tax advisor though, because rules vary by state and even city sometimes...

When I was setting up my battery storage, the installer mentioned something similar—if it's solar-tied, you're usually good for the credit. But mine's a hybrid setup and it got a bit complicated... anyone else run into weird eligibility issues with hybrid systems?
