I get where you’re coming from, but honestly, I’ve managed with just twice a year for a while now—even with a couple of big maples nearby. Maybe I’m just lucky, but I think it depends a lot on the type of trees and how much wind you get. Gutter guards have been hit or miss for me too, but I found the mesh kind helps enough that I don’t need to clean as often. I just can’t justify paying for monthly cleanings. If I see overflow, I’ll grab a ladder, but otherwise, I try not to overthink it.

That’s pretty much my approach too. I’ve got a few rentals with monster oaks nearby, and honestly, twice a year is usually enough unless we get a crazy storm. Tried those foam gutter inserts once—ended up with a squirrel nest and a bigger mess than before. Sometimes “set it and forget it” just doesn’t work with gutters...
