So, I was up on a ladder yesterday pulling out a nasty clump of leaves and who-knows-what from my downspout...gross. Got me thinking, um, how often do you guys actually clean yours? I usually aim for twice a year but honestly, life happens and sometimes it's just once. Curious if I'm slacking or being overly cautious here. Quick poll:
- Never, nature will sort itself out
- Once a year is plenty
- Twice a year, spring and fall
- More than twice, I'm paranoid
Twice a year is my sweet spot tooβusually spring and fall. Learned the hard way after neglecting it for a full year once...ended up with water pooling near the foundation during heavy rains. Not fun dealing with basement moisture issues, trust me. Now I just set calendar reminders and bite the bullet. Better safe than sorry, imo.
