I get the “function over fancy” mindset, but I’ll be honest—ugly gutters drive me nuts after a while. I’ve patched mine up with duct tape and weird brackets before, but every time I walk by, it bugs me. Plus, if you ever want to sell, buyers notice that stuff. I’m not saying you need copper gutters or anything, but a little effort goes a long way. Water damage is a beast, sure, but curb appeal isn’t just for show.
