I got tired of stumbling around my backyard at night, so I rigged up some solar lights along the walkway. Just grabbed a few cheap solar lamps from the dollar store, stuck them into mason jars (to protect from rain), and lined them up along the path edges. Works pretty decent, but I'm wondering if anyone's got a better or more durable solution...or maybe something brighter?
- Tried something similar last summer, but mason jars fogged up pretty quick. Ended up switching to those LED rope lightsβstill solar-powered but way brighter and weather-resistant. Maybe worth checking out if you're looking for durability... how's the battery life on yours holding up?
Had the same fogging issue with mason jarsβlooked nice for about a week, then turned into cloudy messes. Switched to those stake-style solar lights instead. They're pretty decent brightness-wise, but battery life drops off noticeably after a few months. How long have your rope lights been holding a charge? Wondering if it's worth another swap...
