Had a dripping faucet driving me nuts last weekend, decided to tackle it myself. Shut off water, grabbed my adjustable wrench, screwdriver, and channel locks. Took handle off, replaced washer, tightened everything back up...no more drip. Anyone got quicker tricks or better tool suggestions?
"Shut off water, grabbed my adjustable wrench, screwdriver, and channel locks."
Funny you mention that adjustable wrenchβI swear mine has legs. Every time I need it, it's vanished into thin air. Last month, had a faucet dripping like Chinese water torture... drip... drip... drip. Decided enough was enough and went hunting for the wrench. After 20 mins of searching (and some mild swearing), found it hiding under the sink behind a stack of old sponges.
Anyway, your method sounds solidβpretty much what I do too. Though recently, I stumbled upon those faucet valve-seat tools at the hardware store. They're cheap enough that even my wallet didn't complain much, and they actually made the job quicker. Got me wondering if anyone else has tried them? Or am I just a sucker for shiny new tools that promise to make life easier but end up forgotten in the toolbox graveyard...
Either way, congrats on conquering the drip demon yourself without calling in expensive reinforcements. Always satisfying to save a few bucks!
