Last summer, my AC bills were through the roof, seriously painful to look at. I figured my house was just old and drafty, but a friend mentioned it might actually be poor insulation letting all the heat in. Never really thought insulation mattered much in hot weather, always assumed it was more of a cold climate thing, you know? Has anyone else upgraded insulation to deal with heat issues? Curious if it actually made a noticeable difference or if it's just hype.

I used to think the same thing until I redid my attic insulation a couple summers ago. Before that, my AC was basically running a marathon every day. Afterward, it felt like the house finally learned how to hold onto cool air...and my wallet thanked me too. Definitely not just hype.
