I had a similar mold issue in my bedroom closet—ended up installing one of those cheap battery-powered mini fans inside. Not exactly stylish, but it did the trick. As for frizz...humidity always wins, so I just roll with messy buns most days.

I feel your pain—humidity and historic homes are a match made in moldy, frizzy-haired heaven. I've tried fans too, but eventually bit the bullet and installed a small dehumidifier in my closet. Not exactly period-appropriate decor, but hey, neither is moldy clothing. Speaking of frizz though...has anyone ever found a hair product that genuinely stands up to summer humidity? Or should we all just accept our fate as fluffy-haired folks?

Haha, couldn't have said it better myself. I've flipped a few older homes and the mold struggle is real—dehumidifiers are lifesavers, even if they're eyesores. As for frizz, I've tried countless serums and sprays, but honestly, nothing seems to fully tame the beast. Maybe it's just nature's way of telling us to embrace the fluff...?

I've had my fair share of battles with mold in older homes (and yes, the hair frizz too). Honestly, I've found that good ventilation makes a huge difference. One house I worked on had closets that were basically mold factories—no matter how much we cleaned, it kept coming back. We ended up installing small vent fans to circulate air, and it was night and day. A bit more work than just plugging in a dehumidifier, but worth it if you wanna ditch the eyesore.

As for the frizz...I feel your pain. Serums are hit or miss for me too, but I did discover that microfiber towels help a lot. Regular towels rough up the hair cuticle, making frizz worse—who knew? It's not a miracle cure, but definitely toned down the fluff a bit. At some point though, yeah, you just gotta roll with it and accept the humidity hair look as part of the charm of old-house living.

Ventilation definitely helps, but honestly, I've found that pairing it with a good mold-resistant primer or paint makes a huge difference. Had a similar issue in our basement closet—cleaned it repeatedly, but the mold kept creeping back. Finally bit the bullet and painted with mold-blocking primer...haven't seen it since. As for frizz, microfiber towels are great, but I've also had luck with leave-in conditioners. Still, some days you just gotta embrace the fluff and call it "character," right?
