Interesting approach with the exhaust fan—I hadn't thought of using a timer like that. I've mostly relied on passive solutions like moisture absorbers and cedar blocks, but they're not always effective long-term. Curious, have you noticed any significant impact on your electricity bill from running the fan regularly? Might be worth considering if it's minimal...

Haha, moldy closets and frizzy hair—sounds like the title of my autobiography. But seriously, your timer idea is pretty clever. I've tried those cedar blocks too, and honestly, I think the mold just laughs at them. I'd bet the fan won't spike your bill much; I run mine regularly in the bathroom, and haven't noticed any scary jumps yet. Might be worth a shot if it saves your clothes (and sanity)...

Totally agree about cedar blocks—they're basically decorative at this point. A timer-controlled fan is smart, but honestly, if mold's persistent, you might wanna check insulation or ventilation issues. I've flipped houses where hidden moisture was the real culprit...worth investigating before it gets worse.

Interesting point about hidden moisture...makes me wonder, could the type of paint or wall covering also be contributing to mold growth? I've read somewhere that certain materials trap humidity more than others. Curious if anyone's explored that angle.

Good thinking about the paint—I've seen closets painted with glossy or oil-based paints that practically seal moisture in. Had a client once whose closet walls were sweating like a cold soda can...switched to breathable latex paint, and things improved noticeably. Worth considering?
