"You ever try those moisture absorber packs or charcoal bags? I've heard mixed things..."

- Tried charcoal bags in my closet last summer—honestly, didn't notice much difference.
- Moisture packs worked better, but you gotta replace them pretty often.
- And yeah, humidity always wins... my hair agrees.

I've had my share of closet mold battles too, and honestly, charcoal bags didn't do much for me either. Moisture packs were decent, but like you said:

"you gotta replace them pretty often."

What finally worked best was improving airflow—installed a small vent at the bottom of the closet door and added a tiny USB-powered fan inside. Sounds extra, I know, but it seriously cut down on mold (and my hair appreciated the effort too...).

Improving airflow definitely helps, but personally, I found that wasn't quite enough for my closet. I went the dehumidifier route—a small electric one tucked in the corner. Yeah, it's another gadget to plug in, but it really pulled moisture out of the air consistently. Didn't have to mess with vents or fans either. Just empty the water tank every few days, and mold hasn't shown its ugly face since. Not knocking your setup, though... whatever works, right?

Haha, lucky you. I tried a dehumidifier once—worked great until I forgot to empty it for a week. Came home to a mini indoor lake... lesson learned: set reminders or invest in towels.

Haha, I feel your pain on the indoor lake situation. I had a similar experience when I first moved into my fixer-upper. Thought I'd be smart and got one of those big industrial-looking dehumidifiers from a garage sale. Worked like a charm at first—closets felt dry, air was crisp, hair was finally behaving... until I got busy with work and completely spaced on emptying the tank.

Came home after a long day to find water seeping out from under the closet door onto my hardwood floors. Not exactly the relaxing evening I'd planned. Spent the next hour frantically mopping up water with every towel I owned and then some. Ended up borrowing towels from my neighbor just to keep up. Pretty sure he thought I'd lost my mind.

After that fiasco, I decided to bite the bullet and drill a hole through the wall to run a drainage hose directly outside. Wasn't thrilled about putting another hole in my already questionable drywall skills, but honestly, best decision ever. Haven't had to empty a tank since, and mold hasn't dared show up again.

Still dealing with frizzy hair though... guess you can't win 'em all.
