Making trim look pro without hiring out
Tape-free painting is like riding a bike without training wheels - terrifying at first, but once you get the hang of it, you wonder why you ever bothered with all that prep. I totally get what you mean about old trim too. Sometimes tape just highlights how wavy everything is. As for brushes, I’m with you on the stubby ones for tight spots. Those long handles always seem to find a way to bump into something or knock over my coffee... Maybe it’s just me, but the short handle feels like less of a bull in a china shop.
