"Speaking of thermostats, anyone else feel like their smart thermostat judges them when they crank up the heat? Like, 'Really, you're cold again?'"
Haha, totally get this. Mine gives me these little "energy-saving tips" notifications whenever I bump it up a few degrees. Feels like passive-aggressive shade from my own house. Like, sorry I'm not built for arctic survival mode at 65 degrees... Glad I'm not alone in feeling personally victimized by my thermostat.
Haha, mine does something similar. Last week it sent me a monthly report saying I used "more heat than average households." Felt like it was politely calling me weak... guess I'm just not thermostat-tough yet.
Haha, I feel this. Mine once sent me a notification saying my water usage was "unusually high"βturned out it was just me trying to DIY fix a leaky faucet and failing miserably. Felt like the house was judging my handyman skills... or lack thereof. Are these smart homes secretly roasting us now?
Haha, sounds about right. Honestly, these smart systems can be helpful, but sometimes they're just overly sensitive. Had a client whose thermostat kept nagging him about "inefficient heating"βturned out his kid kept leaving windows cracked open. Wonder if there's a way to dial down their sassiness level...?
Haha, reminds me of when I installed smart lighting. Kept getting notifications about lights left on in empty roomsβturned out the dog kept triggering the motion sensors. Had to tweak sensitivity settings room-by-room, bit tedious but did the trick. Wonder if thermostats have similar adjustable sensitivity settings buried somewhere in their menus... Has anyone tried digging through those advanced options? Might be worth a look before your house starts giving you attitude about your lifestyle choices, lol.
