Haha, been there!
Totally get the wired sensor preference, but honestly, wireless has come a long way lately. I used to swear by wired setups too, until I moved into an older houseβrunning wires through plaster walls was a nightmare. Switched to wireless sensors and haven't looked back. Yeah, battery swaps can be annoying, but setting calendar reminders every six months or so helps a ton. Beats drilling holes and patching drywall any day...
Yeah, totally agreedβwireless tech has improved big-time. One tip though: rechargeable batteries can be a game changer. Less waste, fewer replacements, and some newer sensors even have solar options now...pretty cool if you ask me.

Solar sensors sound neatβI remember installing some solar garden lights last summer, and honestly, I was skeptical they'd last. But they're still going strong, even through cloudy days. Wonder if indoor solar tech could catch up soon?
I've had mixed luck with indoor solar stuff myself...tried setting up a solar-powered sensor near a window once, but it never really got enough sunlight to stay charged. Outdoors they're great, but indoors might still need some tweaking.
Had a similar experience myself. Tried setting up a solar-powered security cam indoors near a south-facing window, thinking it'd get enough juice... nope. Even with direct sunlight for a few hours, it barely stayed alive overnight. Ended up running a USB cable insteadβless elegant, but way more reliable. Indoor solar sounds great in theory, but practically speaking, we're just not there yet.
