Haha, I feel you on the midnight wateringβmy first smart thermostat kept randomly cranking the heat at 3am. Thought my house was haunted till I realized it was just buggy firmware. Upgraded to Nest and life's been way less spooky since.
Haha, glad you figured it outβnothing worse than waking up convinced your house has a mind of its own. But honestly, don't you ever wonder if we're handing over a bit too much control to these devices? I mean, convenience is great, but sometimes I question whether the trade-off is worth it. Still, Nest does have a pretty solid rep for reliability, so hopefully your spooky nights are behind you now...
Totally get what you're saying. I live in an old historic home, and while I love the charm, adding smart devices has been...interesting. Sometimes it feels like the house itself resists the techβlights randomly flicker, Wi-Fi drops out in certain rooms. Convenience is nice, but there's something reassuring about manual switches and knobs. Still, Nest has been pretty solid here too, so fingers crossed your spooky tech moments are done for now.
Haha, I feel your pain. My house isn't historic, but it's definitely budget-friendly (aka old-ish), and smart devices have been a mixed bag here too. Nest thermostat was a solid investment thoughβeasy install and actually saves money. Fingers crossed your house decides to cooperate soon...

Same here, Nest was one of the few smart upgrades my old place accepted without throwing a tantrum. Tried smart bulbs once... ended up having to yell at Alexa AND flip switches manually. Felt like parenting a stubborn toddler.
