Smart gadgets in the kitchen: time-saver or just more hassle?

Yeah, I hear you. I’ve remodeled a bunch of kitchens and honestly, here’s what I’ve noticed:

- The more “smart” features you add, the more things that can go wrong. It’s not just the app—sometimes it’s the WiFi, sometimes it’s a random software update at the worst possible time.
- When something does break, repairs are usually pricier and take longer. Not everyone knows how to fix a touchscreen panel or troubleshoot a Bluetooth connection.
- On the flip side, I’ve seen some folks genuinely love their smart ovens for the remote preheat or recipe integration. If you’re into gadgets, it can be fun... but it’s definitely not a must-have.

Personally, I’d rather have a solid, basic appliance that just works. If I want to get fancy, I’ll add a timer or a magnetic notepad to the fridge. Less to break, more money left for the good stuff—like better countertops or a killer faucet.
