Good point about the teaβ€”I hadn't considered the tannin buildup issue. I've been using a mild hardwood cleaner myself, and honestly, it's been pretty reliable. Might give your method a try more consistently... sounds simpler in the long run.

Same here, mild cleaner's been my go-to for years. Tried the tea thing once, but honestly, it felt like extra fuss for similar results. Guess I'm just a creature of habit... if it ain't broke, right?

Totally agree, mild cleaners usually do the trick. One thing I'd addβ€”microfiber mop pads make a huge difference. Switched to those a while back and floors look way better with less effort... worth trying if you haven't yet.

Definitely second the microfiber pads, they're great. Another thing I've found useful is keeping a spray bottle handy with a diluted vinegar-water solutionβ€”about a quarter cup of white vinegar per quart of water usually does it. Just spray lightly, mop with microfiber, and it evaporates quickly without residue. One caution though: avoid using vinegar too often or too concentrated, since the acidity can eventually dull the finish. Maybe alternate with plain water or your mild cleaner to keep things balanced.

I've been trying the vinegar trick too, and it works pretty well. But yeah, I learned the hard way about overdoing itβ€”my floors started looking a little dull. Now I just alternate with plain water, seems to do the trick... live and learn, right?
