I've been thinking about trying the no-shoes thing, but I'm curious—do you find that socks or slippers actually help prevent scratches, or is it mostly just about dirt and grit? I've noticed some slippers have pretty firm soles, and I'm wondering if those could still cause minor scuffs over time. Has anyone experimented with different slipper materials or styles to see what's safest for hardwood?

I've tried a bunch of slippers myself, and honestly, the softer fabric-bottomed ones seem safest. The firm-soled slippers can definitely leave tiny scuffs over time—learned that the hard way, lol. Socks are great too, but slippery...so watch your step!

I've noticed the same thing about slippers—those rubber soles can be sneaky scratchers. Socks are okay, but honestly, I've found that regular sweeping and a quick microfiber mop every few days does way more to keep floors shiny. Do you guys use any special cleaners or just water?

I mostly stick to warm water and a dash of vinegar—it's eco-friendly, cheap, and honestly does wonders. Plus, no weird residue like store-bought cleaners. Just don't go overboard on vinegar...unless you want your house smelling like salad dressing.

I've tried the vinegar trick too, but does anyone else notice it dulling the finish over time? Maybe I'm just paranoid... I switched to a tiny bit of dish soap in warm water—seems gentler on my floors.
