I get what you mean about the vinegar smell... tried it once on my stainless steel fridge and the kitchen smelled like salad dressing for hours. Rubbing alcohol works great, but heads up—avoid using it on painted surfaces. Learned that one the hard way.

Haha, the salad dressing smell struggle is real... been there myself. Good tip about the rubbing alcohol—painted surfaces can be surprisingly delicate. Sometimes trial and error is just part of the cleaning adventure, right?

I've definitely faced similar surprises during my first renovation project. You're right—painted surfaces can be unexpectedly sensitive, and I learned the hard way after a vinegar-based cleaner stripped some of the paint off my kitchen cabinets. Not exactly the natural cleaning success story I was hoping for...

Trial and error really does seem unavoidable, especially when you're trying to balance eco-friendly choices with effectiveness. It's reassuring to see others acknowledging that it's not always a smooth journey. Your rubbing alcohol tip is useful; I'll keep it in mind for next time. Thanks for sharing the reality check—it's good to know I'm not alone in navigating these cleaning mishaps.

I've had mixed luck with natural cleaners too:
- Baking soda paste works wonders on ovens, but leaves gritty residue everywhere.
- Lemon juice smells great but barely touches grease buildup.
- Store-bought stuff is effective but the fumes...ugh.

Still searching for that magic eco-friendly cleaner, I guess.

Yeah, lemon juice alone can be pretty weak on tough grease, but have you tried mixing it with vinegar? I used to think vinegar was overrated until I combined it with lemon juice and a bit of dish soap—total game changer. Cuts through grease surprisingly well, and the smell isn't half bad either. Still not as instant as store-bought sprays, but way easier on the lungs...and wallet.
