- Totally agree on the stick-on LEDs—those things lasted about a week on my old walls before gravity won.
- Hardwired is definitely a bigger project, but it’s so much less fiddly in the long run.
-

I do wish more lighting options were made with sustainability in mind, though.
Couldn’t agree more. All the “disposable” stuff just feels wasteful after a while.
- I’m curious—has anyone found any lighting brands that actually prioritize repairability or recyclable materials? Or is it all just greenwashing at this point?
- I get the tech fatigue too. Tried a smart dimmer, ended up just using my elbow to hit the wall switch like always...
- Cords are my nemesis—tripped over one last week and nearly took out my coffee maker. Anyone else have clever cord management tricks that don’t involve drilling holes everywhere?

I hear you on the cord chaos—my kitchen looked like a spaghetti factory for a while. I ended up using those adhesive cable clips that stick under cabinets and along the backsplash. No drilling, and they’re cheap. They do lose grip after a year or so, but I’d rather re-stick than patch holes. Has anyone tried those fabric cord sleeves? I’m tempted, but not sure if they’re more hassle than they’re worth.

Fabric cord sleeves, huh? I’ve seen those in a few kitchens and honestly, they look tidy at first, but if you’ve got a bunch of different plug sizes or need to unplug stuff often, they can be a pain. Ever tried wrangling a toaster cord out of one when you’re half-awake? Not my favorite. The adhesive clips are way less fussy, even if you have to re-stick them every so often. Anyone else’s sleeves end up looking like a lumpy sock after a few months, or is that just me?

I get where you’re coming from, but honestly, I’ve had the opposite experience. The sleeves actually helped me corral the mess of cords behind my coffee station, and I don’t mind unzipping them when I need to swap something out. The adhesive clips always seem to lose their stick for me, especially with the humidity in the kitchen. Maybe it depends on the brand or how much you’re moving stuff around? Either way, I’d take a slightly lumpy sleeve over cords dangling everywhere.

Funny, I’ve had the opposite luck with sleeves—mine always seem to bunch up or slide down the cords, and then everything looks even messier than before. I guess it might be the old plaster walls in my kitchen, but adhesive clips just stick better for me, even with the summer humidity. Makes me wonder if it’s the age of the house or just the brands I’m picking. Have you tried any of those fabric cord covers that blend in with the backsplash? I keep thinking about giving those a shot, but not sure if they’d look out of place in an older kitchen.
