I feel you on the spray thing—been there, done that, and it wasn't pretty, haha. Have you tried mirrors yet? I recently added a large mirror opposite my living room window, and honestly, it's like doubling the daylight without any extra lamps or bulbs. I was skeptical at first because it seemed too simple to actually work...but now I'm hooked. Plus, mirrors can make your space feel bigger too, which is always a bonus in smaller rooms.

Also curious if anyone's experimented with reflective decor pieces? I picked up some metallic vases and candle holders last month—nothing flashy, just subtle brass finishes—and they bounce around just enough light to brighten up darker corners. It's surprising how these little touches can change the whole vibe of a room without much effort or expense.

Mirrors are definitely underrated. I put one up in my hallway opposite a small window, and it made a huge difference—no more gloomy corridor vibes. Haven't tried metallic decor yet, but I did swap out heavy curtains for sheer ones. Lets in way more natural light without sacrificing privacy. Simple change, big payoff. Might give the brass accents a shot next...sounds promising.

Mirrors opposite windows definitely help bounce the light around, but have you thought about wall paint? I swapped out a matte paint in my living room for a satin finish, and it was like adding a whole extra window—seriously, the room felt instantly brighter. Maybe not everyone's cup of tea, though, since satin can highlight imperfections in the wall (ask me how I found that out, lol).

Also curious—did you notice a big temperature difference when you went sheer? I did something similar in our bedroom, and while the lighting was great, I felt like we lost some insulation. Ended up layering with thicker curtains at night, kind of defeating the purpose. Brass accents sound nice, though. Are you thinking hardware or decorative pieces? I've seen some brass-framed mirrors that look fantastic...could be a cool combo with your hallway setup.

I totally feel you on the satin paint highlighting imperfections—been there, done that, got the patchy wall to prove it, haha. About the sheer curtains, yeah, they look great but definitely chillier. I ended up using cellular shades behind mine...keeps things cozy without losing that airy vibe.

Good tip on the cellular shades—I’ve been looking into those myself. A bit pricey upfront, but they seem worth it for insulation. Curious though, did you go for the top-down/bottom-up style, or just standard pull-down? I'm debating if the extra flexibility is actually useful day-to-day or just a gimmick...
