I tried the mirror trick in a small condo I renovated last year. It definitely boosted the natural light, but placement is key—too high or low and it just feels off. Also, matte finishes on walls help diffuse light evenly without harsh reflections...worth considering.

Totally agree, mirrors can be tricky. Have you experimented with sheer curtains or blinds to soften incoming sunlight? I've found they help diffuse harsh rays nicely without losing brightness.

Mirrors definitely can be a bit tricky—I once hung one opposite a window thinking it'd brighten things up, but instead it created this weird glare that made the room feel colder. Ended up moving it to a side wall, and paired it with some sheer curtains (like you mentioned). That combo softened the glare and evenly spread the natural light around...totally changed the mood of the room. Sometimes trial and error is the best teacher, right?

Yeah, mirrors can be surprisingly complicated, can't they? Did you notice a difference in the glare depending on the time of day or the angle of the sun? I'm currently planning out my first renovation and trying to anticipate these little details. Good call with the sheer curtains though—sounds like a smart way to diffuse harsh light without sacrificing brightness. Guess I'll just have to experiment a bit myself...

Mirrors and sheer curtains definitely help, but honestly, I've found that paint color makes a bigger difference than people realize. I experimented with mirrors too, and while they do bounce light around, they can sometimes create weird glare spots depending on the angle. A soft, neutral paint shade—like a warm off-white or pale gray—can brighten up a room consistently without the hassle of adjusting mirrors or curtains throughout the day. Plus, it's budget-friendly if you're careful about brands and coverage...just something else to consider before committing to mirrors everywhere.
