I get your point about subtle changes, but honestly, seasonal redecorating doesn't have to be harsh on furniture or walls. If you're careful and pick lightweight, modular pieces—maybe even reclaimed materials—you can refresh the space without damage. Plus, your dog might finally surrender...maybe.
I've been thinking about this too, and modular pieces definitely help. But what about older homes? Mine's historic, and the walls practically crumble if you look at them wrong. I've found that using tension rods for curtains or fabric panels can change the vibe without drilling holes. Also, rugs—lots of rugs. My dog just thinks they're new nap spots, though... surrender isn't in his vocabulary yet. Have you tried temporary wallpaper? Curious if that's gentle enough for frequent swaps.
Temporary wallpaper can be hit or miss with delicate walls—I had a client once whose vintage plaster didn't love the adhesive. Ended up peeling off more than just wallpaper... Rugs and fabric panels are safer bets for sure, plus they're dog-approved nap zones, as you've discovered.
I've had similar experiences with temporary wallpaper—especially on older walls. Have you considered tension rods with curtains or fabric panels instead? Easy to swap out seasonally, gentle on walls, and pets seem to love hiding behind them... bonus points for entertainment value.

Totally agree with this! Tried tension rods last fall and my cat practically lived behind the curtains. Plus, fabric panels are budget-friendly—easy to thrift or DIY from clearance fabric. Definitely recommend giving it a shot.
