Been there with the driveway sealing fiasco... prep really is everything. I once rushed a patio stain job thinking "how bad could it be?" and ended up with blotches that looked like abstract art, lol. One thing that helped me next time was using a pressure washer and letting it dry completely—like, way longer than I thought necessary. Patience isn't my strongest suit, but it made a huge difference.
