I just learned something kinda cool—apparently, vinegar mixed with water can help get rid of those annoying weeds popping up between patio stones. I tried it yesterday, and today they're already looking wilted. Way cheaper than store-bought weed killers, you know? Curious if anyone else has random patio hacks or tricks they've stumbled across...

That's a solid tip—vinegar's been my go-to for years, especially since I try to avoid harsh chemicals around my historic brickwork. Just a heads-up though, be careful around older stone or brick patios; vinegar can sometimes erode softer materials over time. Learned that the hard way with my 1920s patio... But yeah, definitely beats spending money on those overpriced weed killers. Glad it's working out for you.

Good call on the vinegar heads-up—I almost wrecked my sandstone pavers doing the same thing a while back. Ended up switching to boiling water for weeds between cracks, and it surprisingly worked wonders without any damage. Love seeing folks find creative ways around harsh chemicals, though... definitely feels better knowing you're not soaking your patio in who-knows-what. Keep rocking those DIY hacks!

Boiling water's a solid trick, especially for sandstone. Another thing I've found helpful is sprinkling baking soda into the cracks after pouring boiling water—it seems to keep weeds from popping back up as quickly. Plus, it's totally safe for pets and plants nearby. Learned that one after my dog kept sniffing around the patio edges... didn't want to risk anything sketchy. Always nice finding simple solutions that don't involve mystery chemicals.

Vinegar and boiling water are both solid methods. Another thing I've done is brushing polymeric sand into the cracks—it hardens after watering, sealing gaps and preventing weeds. Bit pricier upfront, but lasts ages and looks tidy. Just make sure the patio's completely dry beforehand.
