Just stumbled across something pretty cool—did you guys know that adding crushed eggshells to your patio plant soil can actually help keep pests away? Apparently, slugs and snails hate crawling over the sharp edges. I mean, who knew my breakfast leftovers could double as pest control, haha. Anyway, now I'm curious if anyone else has stumbled onto random patio hacks or weird facts like this...
Funny you mention eggshells—I tried coffee grounds last summer. Sprinkled them around my patio plants, and not only did it keep pests down, but the plants seemed happier too. Plus, the patio smelled like fresh coffee for days... bonus perk right there.

Interesting idea with the coffee grounds—I’ve heard mixed things about that. Tried it myself around some shrubs last year and honestly didn’t notice much difference in pests, but maybe I wasn’t generous enough with the grounds? Did you use fresh grounds or leftover from brewing?
One thing I did notice though: earthworms seemed to love it. Every time I dug around those plants afterward, tons of worms popped up, which is usually a good sign for soil health. Might give it another shot this season and see if results differ... maybe certain plants respond better than others? Curious if anyone else had similar experiences or noticed specific plants thriving more than others.
