Totally get where you're coming from with the repurposed finds. Last summer, I found an old wooden ladder someone tossed out on the curb, sanded it down a bit, and turned it into a plant stand. Honestly didn't think it'd hold up past a few rains, but it's still there and actually looks pretty great with some trailing ivy and succulents. Funny how the stuff you least expect ends up being your favorite part of the yard...
That's exactly the kind of creativity I love seeing. People underestimate how much character repurposed items add to a space. I once turned an old window frame into a hanging herb gardenβthought it might look tacky, but now it's the first thing guests comment on...

Haha, isn't it funny how the stuff we're most unsure about ends up being everyone's favorite? I had a similar experience when I turned an old wooden ladder into a vertical planter. My wife gave me that skeptical eyebrow raise (you know the one), but now she's the first to brag about it when friends come over.
Honestly, repurposed items just have that charm you can't buy at a store. Plus, there's always a good story behind them. I mean, anyone can buy a fancy planter from a garden center, but how many people can say their flower bed used to be grandma's rusty wheelbarrow?
The only downside is now I can't throw anything away without thinking, "Hmm, could this be a planter or a shelf?" My garage is basically a DIY graveyard at this point...
