Thyme and oregano are great suggestions—especially thyme, since it can handle a bit of foot traffic too. Another one I'd recommend is creeping rosemary. It trails nicely over edges and pots, smells amazing, and is surprisingly hardy once established. Mint taught me a similar harsh lesson... had to completely redo a client's small herb garden after mint took over everything. Now I always suggest keeping mint in its own pot, safely contained away from the rest.

- Creeping rosemary is nice visually, but from my experience, it's not as hardy as people think—especially in colder climates. Lost mine after just one harsh winter, even with mulch protection.
- If you're looking for something truly resilient, creeping thyme or sedum varieties might be safer bets. They handle frost and foot traffic better.
- Totally agree on mint though... learned that lesson the hard way too.

Couldn't agree more about creeping thyme. I tried rosemary too, thinking it'd hold up fine, but after one winter... nope. Switched to creeping thyme last year, and honestly, it's been a game changer—not just hardy, but the texture and subtle fragrance are fantastic underfoot. Mint though... yeah, never again. Still pulling rogue sprouts from places I didn't even plant it!

Creeping thyme's definitely a solid choice—mine survived multiple harsh winters without issue. Mint though... learned that lesson the hard way myself. Still finding random sprouts popping up years later, it's relentless. Glad you found something that works!

Creeping thyme's been a champ in my yard too—love how it fills in between stepping stones. Mint though...yeah, learned that lesson myself. Still, gotta admit, pulling random mint sprouts beats wrestling with weeds any day. Your space sounds lovely and cozy now!
