I've had mine about 3 years now, and honestly, I think brand quality does matter a bit—but luck might be involved too. I'm near the coast and haven't seen any corrosion or issues yet. As for security, I admit I don't change codes often...maybe I'm just lazy, haha.

Haha, I'm guilty of the same laziness with codes...haven't changed mine since installation. But honestly, corrosion-wise, I've seen cheaper brands hold up surprisingly well near salty air. Maybe luck is the real MVP here?

Interesting you mention luck...but honestly, I've had pricier locks rust out on me faster than the budget ones. Makes me wonder if it's less about brand and more about specific materials or coatings they use? Or maybe just batch quality control randomness...

Yeah, I've noticed the same thing with hardware finishes in general—not just locks. Sometimes a cheaper matte finish holds up way better than a pricier polished one. Makes me think it's more about the actual coating process or maybe even environmental factors like humidity or salt air. Have you noticed if your locks rust faster in certain locations around your house?

I've definitely noticed more rust on locks near my garage and side doors, probably because they're exposed to rain and wind more often. But weirdly, the cheaper matte ones there seem fine... maybe it's just luck or something else going on?
