Interesting, I was actually considering one of those fingerprint locks myself—glad I saw your experience first. We recently switched from regular keys to a digital keypad, and it's been mostly great, but even that has its quirks. Like the other day, my partner forgot the code (we'd just changed it), and he ended up texting me from the porch to let him in... kinda defeats the purpose of keyless entry, right? 😂

But honestly, I'm still curious about other options like Bluetooth or app-based locks. Are they reliable enough? Or do they just add another layer of complication? Seems like every time tech promises convenience, there's always some unexpected hassle lurking around the corner...

Yeah, keypad locks definitely have their moments—been there with the forgotten codes. I've looked into Bluetooth locks too, but honestly, I'm still skeptical about relying on my phone battery or Bluetooth connection to get into my own house. Plus, what happens if your phone gets lost or stolen? Seems like each tech upgrade solves one problem but introduces another... Maybe the sweet spot is something simple but with a reliable backup option?

I totally get your hesitation about Bluetooth locks—I've had my phone die on me at the worst possible moments, so relying solely on it for home access feels risky. Have you considered keypad locks that also have a physical key backup? I've recommended these to clients before, and they seem to strike a nice balance between convenience and peace of mind. Tech is great, but sometimes the simplest solutions are still the best...

I totally see where you're coming from about the Bluetooth locks—my phone battery loves to betray me too, usually at the absolute worst moment possible. Keypad locks with a physical backup do sound practical, but have you thought about fingerprint locks as an alternative? I recently installed one for a client who was super hesitant about tech. Turns out, they loved it because it gave them a bit of futuristic convenience without worrying about codes or batteries dying. Of course, there's still a key backup (because let's face it, tech isn't always our friend). Plus, fingerprint locks can blend really nicely into modern door designs—I always appreciate when functionality meets aesthetics seamlessly. Might be worth checking out if you're open to something slightly different...

Fingerprint locks are pretty neat—I installed one on our back door last summer, and honestly, it's been a game changer. The kids love it because they don't have to remember codes (and neither do I, thankfully). Only hiccup we've had was when my husband got paint all over his fingers during a project... took a minute to realize why the lock wasn't recognizing him, lol. Still, having that physical key backup saved the day. Definitely worth considering if you're leaning toward convenience without too much hassle.
