Finally switched to keyless entry and here's what I noticed

Totally agree on the backup options—can't stress enough how handy they are. But honestly, keyless entry has been a game changer for me. I remember juggling grocery bags and fumbling around for keys in the rain... not fun. Now, just a quick tap or code and I'm inside—so convenient, especially when my hands are full or it's dark out.

One thing I'd suggest though, is to keep an eye on battery life regularly. I set a reminder every few months to swap mine out, just to avoid any surprises. Also, having a hidden spare key somewhere discreet (like you mentioned) is still smart, even with keyless setups. Tech is great, but it can glitch at the worst times, right?

Overall, the convenience and sleek look of keyless entry outweigh the occasional hiccup for me. Plus, it adds a modern touch to the front door—always a bonus!

Yeah, battery checks are key—I learned that the hard way when mine died unexpectedly. Another thing I've noticed is tenants seem to love keyless setups too... fewer lost keys means fewer headaches for everyone involved. Definitely worth the minor tech hiccups.

- Totally agree on the battery thing—had mine die mid-weekend once, not fun.
- Curious though...anyone had issues with Wi-Fi interference or signal drops affecting reliability?
- Also, wondering if insurance companies give discounts for keyless setups? Seems like they might.

Haven't noticed Wi-Fi interference myself, but I did have some weird signal drops when my microwave was running—go figure. As for insurance discounts, doubt it...they usually care more about alarms or monitored systems than keyless locks.

Funny you mention the microwave thing—I swear mine is secretly plotting against my Netflix binges. But about the insurance discounts, I wouldn't totally rule it out. A friend of mine got a small break after installing smart locks because her insurer considered it part of a broader "smart home" setup. Might depend on your provider or how you pitch it...never hurts to ask, right? Worst case scenario, they say no and you're stuck with a fancy lock and a jealous microwave.
