So, hurricane season's coming up again and last year I kinda scrambled last minute to board up my windows. It was a mess, honestly—ended up with crooked plywood and way too many bent nails, lol. This time I wanna be prepared ahead of time. Anyone got tips or tricks for boarding windows quickly but securely? Maybe something reusable or easier than plywood sheets? I'm open to suggestions, cuz plywood is heavy and awkward as heck to handle alone...

Been there, done that—plywood wrestling is practically an Olympic sport at this point, haha. If you're looking for something easier and reusable, you might wanna check out polycarbonate storm panels. They're lighter than plywood, clear (so you won't feel like you're living in a cave), and pretty straightforward to install once you've got the initial setup done.

Basically, you install permanent mounting tracks or anchors around your windows ahead of time. Then when a storm's coming, you just slide or snap the panels into place—no more crooked boards or bent nails drama. They're sturdy enough to handle hurricane-force winds and debris impacts too.

The downside? They can be pricier upfront compared to plywood, but considering they're reusable season after season, it balances out over time. Plus, your back will thank you later...trust me on this one.

If polycarbonate panels aren't your thing, another option is fabric storm panels. Sounds weird, I know—but they're surprisingly strong and super easy to handle solo. Just something else to consider if you're tired of plywood gymnastics every year.
