Thinking about finally replacing the ancient windows in my house—seriously, they're probably older than me, lol. Anyway, I've been reading up on energy efficiency and stuff, but honestly it's kinda overwhelming. There's all these ratings and numbers and letters, and I'm sorta lost. Like, does anyone actually notice a big difference on heating bills if you go for the super-high-rated ones? Or is it mostly marketing hype?
Also curious if certain brands or window types are actually worth the extra cash. I mean, I like saving money as much as the next person, but spending a ton upfront isn't exactly appealing either. If you've gone through this recently or know your stuff about windows (or even if you just have strong opinions), I'd love some pointers or recommendations.
