Storm windows are definitely a solid move. I tried cellular shades first too, and while they helped a bit, the drafts were still noticeable on windy days. Ended up installing storm windows myself—bit of a hassle, but the difference was night and day. Heating bills dropped noticeably, and rooms felt warmer overall. You're right about the upfront cost being steep, but long-term comfort and savings make it worthwhile. Good call biting the bullet on that one.
